Algae Cyanotypes: Experimental Botanical Printing and Toning

from €75.00

Saturday, August 22, 10:00 - 13:30 at Manywhere Gallery, Porto, PT

Join me for a comprehensive exploration of cyanotype using algae as both subject and collaborator. Through hands-on experimentation, participants create rich blue and naturally toned prints while learning about the range of algae found in our local aquatic environment.

This workshop extends beyond the fundamentals of preparing, exposing, and developing cyanotypes by introducing layering, wet-process techniques, and toning methods that transform the characteristically blue prints into a range of earthy and atmospheric hues and textures.

Participants leave with a collection of unique cyanotype prints on paper and fabric, demonstrating experimental techniques and toning processes, and the foundational knowledge needed to continue working with cyanotype independently. All materials included. Participants will have an opportunity to showcase their creations as part of my exhibition closing on August 29.
