Interdisciplinary Artist

Kandice Kardell is an American visual artist. She creates textiles and cyanotypes that are shaped by and responsive to elemental forces.

Inspiration comes from the philosophical ideas of un-selfing and ecological grief, and the human desire to preserve what is inherently fleeting.

Her recent work uses algae as a biodegradable material that mirrors the transient nature of human life—woven and stitched into shroud-like textiles.

Bridging emotional and ecological narratives, her work invites us to reflect on mortality, grief, and our relationship with the more-than-human world.
